Outback Riviera will be present at St. Cezaire's Fête du Sport et Associations Saturday September 19th from 10H-17H. We will be selling gently used books throughout the day for adults and children. The Association, HAPPY ENGLISH will also have a stand in the placette in the morning where you can purchase books for this worthy cause and at the same time test your English skills!

In the afternoon, both associations will be present at the sports complex where you can participate in a T-Shirt workshop and learn to design your own T-Shirt. Happy English will be present this year's program for children and adults.

All profits from book sales and T-shirt workshop will be donated to the Duy Vinh Primary School on the Island of Duy Vinh, in Central Vietnam. Our donations will help the school provide the children with needed supplies and school materials. WE HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!

Works from our Creative Arts Workshop

The children in this year's Creative Arts workshop produced some amazing works. The latest project, small 3D watercolor models of several buildings in Saint Cezaire are on exhibit in the library throughout the summer. Be sure to stop by and see these wonderful works.

Art lessons begin in the Salle Klouman, St Cezaire

Our art lessons have begun on Tuesday evenings at 17h in the Salle Klouman, behind the public library in St Cezaire. This year's carnaval theme is cowboys and indians.

Two of our talented students learned about Native American symbols and created their own T-Shirt design to communicate their ideas. Bravo to Harry and Marion!

Classical Guitar Concert, Sunday February 15th at 17H

If you enjoy classical guitar, then don't miss the free concert this coming Sunday in the Salle des Moulins in St Cezaire. Guitar professor at the Conservatoire Départemental, Arnaud Partcham, will be playing works by Villa-Lobos, Morel, Théodorakis, Piazzola, York and Barrios. 17H.

Happy New Year for the school in Duy Vinh Vietnam!

Outback Riviera wishes all our readers a happy, healthy ad prosperous New Year. We hope you will continue supporting our association in 2015. It will be a happier new year at the elementary school in Duy Vinh Vietnam this year!

Our latest fundraising efforts  including a Halloween party and Artwork sales in December 2014 helped raise funds to purchase sports equipment for this small rural elementary school on the island of Duy Vinh, near Hoi An Vietnam. The children were delighted to receive these needed equipment as well as the added treat of some candies from France.

2014 Téléthon, Saint Cézaire sur Siagne

Each year, the village of Saint Cezaire pulls together to help raise funds for the Annual Telethon in France. Despite this year's rainy weather, many came out to help. Thanks to all the friends of Outback Riviera and Happy English who helped bake cakes for this worthy cause.

Outback Riviera offering "Creative Expression" art sessions

Outback Riviera is one of the associations in Saint Cezaire selected to offer after school activities as part of TAP (activités periscolaires).  Children in the school will have the opportunity to express themselves through images. Children will be encouraged to use their creativity to tell stories through art. Some of the projects include creating an Egyptian Hieroglyphic of their name, telling a story of hunting as a prehistoric boy or girl to create a drawing in the "prehistoric" style, create a character and using it to tell a story as a comic strip and more.

Hopefully we will be able to extend lessons beyond the after school activities beginning in January, offering sessions for those who would like to join the association.

We are looking for donations of art supplies; crayons, pastels, watercolors, markers and paper. So, if you have any of these items lying around not being used that you would like to donate, please email me. Here area few of the works created by the children...

 

Outback Riviera at the Fête des Associations, St Cezaire

Once again this year, Outback Riviera was present at the village's Fête des Association along with numerous other sports and cultural associations, including "Happy English". We were fortunate to have a pleasant day under sunny skies.

Children were able to test their knowledge of Provence and of English with two quizzes and coloring sheets were provided for the children during the day.  Completed quizzes and drawings were placed in a box for a drawing at the end of the day. The associations Outback Riviera, Happy English Hour, and Eden pulled their resources to organize a Winter Carnival to raise funds for the 2013 Telethon. With the help of our members, volunteers, local businesses and resident, we were able to raise over 600€ for the Telethon with this event! Many thanks to all!

Saint Cezaire sur Siagne to host a variety of activities to raise money for the AFM Telethon

AFM TELETHON EVENTS, SAINT CEZAIRE

Each year, the associations of our village, Saint Cézaire sur Siagne, organize a variety of activities to help raise money for the Annual AFM Telethon in France. The French Muscular Dystrophy Association (AFM) is composed of patients and their families who are affected by neuromuscular diseases. To fight those diseases, AFM pursues actions that benefits all rare diseases and all persons with disabilities.

Mark December 7th on your calendar and come out to Saint Cézaire to help us raise money for this charity. Events will be held throughout the day, including breakfast at the ASTL Tennis Club, sales and  activities for the children in the village during the Saturday market, and at the sports complex, and our Winter Kermesse and Tombola at the Salle des Moulins from 10H-16H. The Brasserie de la Fontaine will hold a concert of Rock'n Roll music in the afternoon under the guidance of our local Jazz musician Fred Rouquier. Please pass along the news to your friends!

2013 Nettoyage de Printemps/ Spring Clean, Saint Cezaire

The Spring clean on a sunny day!

Last Sunday, April 7th, was the Annual Spring Clean in the village of Saint Cezaire with the participation of the village's numerous associations and their members. Unfortunately, the amount of trash found in and around the village amounted to much more than last year.

Let's all work to keep our village clean and beautiful. Remember to carry away your trash if hiking on our paths and let's all help to educate our children to have respect for our environment by setting a good example.

Teens, please set an example for the younger children by taking away your trash from the skate park and other sports sites in the village.

We hope to see more participation next year to help keep our village beautiful!
